When you are ready to sell your courses in your store, you can simply sync them to the store. This process takes three main steps:
- Setting the enrolment method
- Synching the course
- Preparing the courses for sale
1. Lambda Store Enrolment Method
To sync courses over to the Store, first ensure that the Lambda Store Enrolment method is selected for courses or programs:
2. Lambda Store Sync
In the Store Admin Panel, go to Catalog>Synchronize with Lambda Learn.
Here, you or the client can choose how to sync the courses and categories based on the following settings:
3. Preparing Your Courses For Sale
After syncing your courses to the store, the courses become "products," and you will need to take a few extra steps to prepare them for sale.
In the Store Admin Panel, go to Catalog > Products to open up Products Page.
On the Products Page, the courses are listed in the Products Grid. Find the courses that you would like to edit then, click on Edit under the Action column to open up the product editing page.
To ensure that your product is seen in the storefront, these are the 5 basic steps you need to follow:
1. Enable Product
In the product editing page, if you want the product to be visible to customers in the front end, set Enable Product to Yes.
Note: Leave Enable Product as No before your courses are ready to go.
Adjust the individual Price of your course in the product settings. There is a default price set in the backend when your store is setup by the Lambda team. You may need to update the price for the store.
Quantity refers to the number of seats in a course that are available for purchase in the Store. The default setting is empty, so it requires you to add a quantity to ensure that the course available for sale.
Note: This setting allows you to limit the number of seats available in a course. If you don't have a limit, you can input a number high enough to ensure the course remains for sale in the store.
4. Stock Status
When your course have available seats, set the Stock Status to 'In Stock', so the course can be visible in the Store front end. Otherwise, set it to 'Out of Stock'. When the Quantity reaches zero, the Stock Status automatically defaults to ‘Out of Stock’.
You could either accept the default Visibility, which is set as ‘Catalog, Search’ or select ‘Catalog’, ‘Search’ or ‘Not Visible Individually’ in the drop down. Selecting ‘Not Visible Individually’ will not allow the customers to see the course as an individual product, but the course can appear as a part of a bundle or group product.
These are the most essential steps in setting up your courses for sale. Make sure your click Saveevery time after you finished editing.
Since the page has a timer to keep track of the time you spend on this page, make sure you save regularly to avoid 'time outs'.
Congratulations! Now, you have successfully turned your courses to purchasable products on Lambda Store.
