Advanced Pricing Overview
The Advanced Pricing tool sets up discounts for specific customer groups in the store, and can be applied to simple, virtual, downloadable, and bundle products.
NOTE
Advanced pricing cannot be applied to configurable and group products. To apply special pricing to these products, use a catalog price rule.
There are multiple ways to use advanced pricing to promote your products. You can create Group Prices that offer discounts to specific customer groups, or Tier Prices that offer discounts based on the quantity of products purchased.
Setting Up Basic Advanced Pricing
1. On the Lambda Store admin panel, click Catalog > Products to go to the Products page.
2. Find your desired product on the grid, and click Edit under the Action column.
3. Scroll down to the Price field, and click Advanced Pricing.
4. Create the pricing guidelines for your product:
Special Price: The discounted price offered during a specific time range.
Special Price From... To...: The specific time range when your product is being sold at the discounted price.
Customer Group Price: Creates the guidelines for offering the discounted price to specific customer groups or specific purchase quantities. To offer this price to all customers, you can ignore this section.
NOT LOGGED IN: Applies the rule to customers who have not logged in to their accounts.
General: Applies the rule to the general group.
Wholesale: Applies the rule to the wholesale group.
Retailer: Applies the rule to the retailer group.
[Company Name]: Applies the rule to a specific company.
5. Once you are complete, click Done. Your discount pricing will then be visible from the Lambda Store website.
Setting Up Tier Pricing
Tier pricing offers a quantity discount from a product listing on your Lambda Store website. The discount can be applied to a specific store view, or a specific customer group.
1. On the Lambda Store admin panel, click Catalog > Products to go to the Products page.
2. Find your desired product on the grid, and click Edit under the Action column.
3. Scroll down to the Price field, and click Advanced Pricing.
4. In the Customer Group Price section, click Add.
Website: You can choose which website features the discount pricing. This option appears only if your store has multiple websites.
Sample Customer Groups: You can choose which customer group qualifies to receive the discount pricing.
Quantity (Required): You can specific the quantity required to receive discount pricing.
Price: Provides a fixed or discount price for members of a specified customer group.
Fixed: The discount price is entered as a fixed decimal value. For example, entering '9.99' sets the price to $9.99
Discount: The discount price is entered as a percentage of the base product price. For example, entering '10' generates a 10% discount.
Add: You can create an additional row for a new rule.
Delete icon: You can delete a price rule.
5. To generate a tier pricing rule, you must create at least two rules based on two different quantities. In this example, discounts will be offered for customer who purchase five or more textbooks, and customers who purchase ten or more textbooks.
Method 1: Creating Fixed Discounts
Set Price to Fixed.
In the next field, enter the discount price for each unit at that tier.
Method 2: Creating Percentage Discounts
Set Price to Discount.
In the next field, enter the percentage discount for each unit at that tier.
6. Once you are complete, click Done at the top-right corner of the page.
Setting Up Group Pricing
Customer group pricing allows you to offer discount pricing to a specific customer group of your Lambda Store website. However, this discount pricing can only be offered to those purchasing quantity of one product.
1. On the Lambda Store admin panel, click Catalog > Products to go to the Products page.
2. Find your desired product on the grid, and click Edit under the Action column.
3. Scroll down to the Price field, and click Advanced Pricing.
4. In the Customer Group Price section, click Add.
Website: You can choose which website features the discount pricing. This option appears only if the installation has multiple websites.
Sample Customer Groups: You can choose which customer group qualifies to receive the discount pricing.
